Percy Rivington Pyne I (March 8, 1820 - February 14, 1895) was a migrant from England to the United States. He became president of City National Bank. He was also a director for the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad and the New Jersey Zinc Company.

Biography

He was born in England on March 8, 1820 to Anna Rivington and Thomas Pyne.

He was accepted at Christ's Hospital in London, England for his education, but instead migrated to the United States in 1835 and joined Moses Taylor & Co. as a clerk. He became a partner in 1842.

In 1855 he married Taylor's daughter Albertina. Their children included sons Percy Rivington Pyne II, and Moses Taylor Pyne who was a major philanthropist at Princeton University, and a daughter Albertina Taylor Pyne Russell.

He died in Rome, Italy on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1895.
